Artist Statement

I believe every artist work is a unique expression of the artists soul. My work is a deeply spiritual process involving the transmutation of the human condition into healing art. When we are children we are open, expressive, loving and brave. We have this pure experience for a short time. As we get older experiences make us self conscious, fearful, conforming, anxious and depressed. We experience loss, grief, regret and hopelessness. This is the human condition. Amongst the joys, love and positive emotions. . My art is born out of the tragic loss of my son Kaleb. I started painting a year after he passed. I bring these human feelings and experiences to the canvas and connect with the beyond much like meditation. Through this connection these emotions are transmuted into healing colors and shapes that speak of hope, bravery , authenticity, connection , community and oneness.
